Public Notice - Public Hearing on 2025 Operating Budget
Published on October 09, 2024
The Wisconsin Open Meetings Law requires that a Public Notice of every governmental meeting must be provided at least 24 hours before the meeting. Wisconsin statutes also require posting and/or publishing of a Public Notice in other circumstances that are relevant and likely to affect the general public. Such as elections, government budgets, some ordinance changes, large government contracts, etc. These types of events require the municipality to give "Notice" to the public of what is happening, when it is happening, and if there will be a "Public Hearing" held for the voting body to hear comments from the public about the event.
All Notices, requiring publication or not, are posted in the lobby of the Village Hall. All Notices requiring publication are published on the Village website and in the Appleton Area Post Crescent according to Wis. Stats. Chapter 985.
Notices (along with agendas) for Regular Meetings, Special Meetings, and Possible Quorums of all Harrison boards and commissions are published on each board or commission's "Agendas & Minutes" page of the Village website.
Notices, requiring publication, that are in reference to an event that is commonly known to be associated with a specific government office or department, are published on that office or department's page (zoning changes are on the zoning page, election information is on the Clerk's page, etc.).
Notices that are in reference to an event that is not commonly known to be associated with a specific office or department are published on this page. Notices are listed individually until after the meeting or event occurs. After which, the Notice will be archived in the folder / year in which it was published.
